Who's Smart Now?

I recently acquired a smartphone...

Yeah, that's right. Lambat betul kan? Others are switching from iphone 4 to 4S and all that, and I just got myself a smartphone, in replacement of my dualband basic phone. That was also not without some resistance, but since the old phone insisted on switching off on its own accord while placed in handbags or on tabletops, and sometimes refusing to cooperate and let me type my messages in peace, I finally gave in and got me a new phone...

...After finding out I could get the phone for free if I sign up for the provider plan.
And after searching on the Internet and discovering that most phones are smartphones, and if you want the ones like my old phone, it's either so basic sampai skrin pun tak ada colour, atau the ones yang maids pakai. hmm...
So...
Yeah, it's not an iphone. Coz there's no such thing as getting one of those for free kan?
But a smartphone, nonetheless.
I brought it back home and looked at it suspicously. I don't remember telling you this but I am one of those people who is wary of technology. I had issues with computers so smartphones and ipods and touch screens are big adjustments for me.
And my new phone is fully touch screen.
Sigh. I was missing my qwerty keypad already...

So my technology-abled husband helped to put in the simcard and all that, and switched the phone on and asked me to explore.

My first comment was : "Where are all my saved messages???"
Husband patiently explained they are all in the old phone. Or maybe in the old sim because I had new sim because of the new phone plan.

And then... "Where are all my contacts?"
Husband's answer was the almost the same. But here I begged to differ, because as lost as I am in this whole mumbo jumbo, I did have the presence of mind to transfer my contacts into the new sim before switching phones.

And after the phone is, apparently, 'sync-ed' with all my contacts in FB, gmail and yahoo... "Who are all these people? why are their numbers in my phone? WHERE IS MY EXISTING CONTACTS???"

And I was muttering and nattering like crazy looking, scrolling, here and there looking for my contacts. I could not even find the phonebook. I was whining at husband who, brought home his own new phone as well and was busy exploring his so was paying only around 25% attention to the technology-retarded wife.. huh... but finally he gave in as I was saying it was a waste of money (though it is indeed FOC), and thinking about taking my old phone back, and muttering why is everyone so crazy about technology anyway? and.. I don't lnow how he did it, but finally my contacts appeared, along with the additional contacts as well...

And dear husband smiled patiently, and said something like, "See, problem solved, nothing to be angsty about now kan?"

And I was still being crabby and petulantly said, "Huh, smartphone konon. You call this smart? If it's so smart my contacts should've appeared first, you know! What is this hype about smartphone when it's not so smart??"

And husband mildly replied, "You know... ah.. sometimes not only the phone has to be smart,"
...and he grinned at me.

Is he saying what I think he is saying????
